The Taraba State Police Command has recorded a significant stride in its operation against criminal activities in the state as it stormed the kidnappers’ den in Zambana Forest and successfully rescued seven victims.
The fierce operation led by the Mararraba Donga Division in alliance with hunters and vigilantes, was carried out on January 30, 2025, following credible intelligence.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Usman issued the details of the operation in a statement on Monday:
“Acting on credible information, the DPO of Mararraba Donga mobilized a team for a rescue operation in Zambana Forest. The team encountered the kidnappers, who fled under intense gunfire, abandoning the victims. As a result, seven kidnapped individuals were rescued unharmed.”
The rescued victims were identified as:
Lookman Adamu Abdullahi (27),
Abdulmalik Sani (24),
Salisu Musa (32)
Hussaini Musa (35)
Yusuf Musa (21)
Rimamshong Sunday (42)
Eze Ifeanyi (38)
Commending the operatives for their bravery and dedication, Taraba State Commissioner of Police, CP Ukachi P. Opara, applauded the collaborative efforts of the police, hunters, and vigilantes which yielded enormous results.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to ensure the security of lives and properties in the state, thereby curbing kidnappings and other criminal activities. He urged residents to remain law-abiding and provide actionable information to help apprehend the fleeing suspects.
