Nigerian Afrobeat gem Davido has lost his fourth consecutive Grammy nominations in two years.
The singer who bagged yet another Grammy nomination for his contribution to Chris Brown hit song ‘Sensational,’ foresaw another loss after Tems triumphed in the category of Best African Music Performance.
He was nominated in the same category with Asake, Burna Boy, Tems, Wizkid and Chris Brown. Overall, Tems emerged victorious with her song ‘love me Jeje’ discarding ‘Sensational’ place as an anticipated song for the prize.
Astonishingly, a few moment after the loss, Davido took to his social media handle to congratulate Tems and Chris Brown who also won last night.
In reactions, Nigerians expressed their views according to their feelings, sparking a heated debates among rival fans.
Also, Burna Boy and Wizkid lost their nomination in the same category of Best African Music Performance. Wizkid was nominated alongside Asake with the song MMS while Burna Boy was nominated with the song ‘Higher.’
